On October 11, 2015 our team hosted the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Give Away Event at Woodland Hills neighbourhood of Newmarket. We started this Thanksgiving tradition in 2014 as the way to say ‘Thank you’ to our community, and make this day a little warmer and happier for the families.
This year the event turned to be a real success. The weather was perfect: lots of sunshine and a little frosty to match the fall spirit. Pumpkins looked very attractive in the sunshine along the path to the Harvest hills playground.
Families started pouring in around 9.30 am and the place filled in with smiles and kids’ happy faces. Each family chose a pumpkin, participated in a draw for some prices and of course, enjoyed coffee and treats on this beautiful day. As a nice final touch, each child was given a coupon for a free ice-cream generously provided by our local McDonald’s.
Over 70 families came to the Pumpkin Give Away this year and we are looking forward to organizing our 3d Annual Event in 2016!
